I HAVE visited York for many years and I was going to come down from Scotland to Ascot in June but have discovered when trying to get accommodation the prices have gone up three to four times the usual tariff.
One guest house owner told me he could ask London prices. As a retired guest house owner I am shocked the ETB condones this and allows these people to be members.
I was a member of the STB and very proud to give our visitors to Scotland a stay to remember, and not rip them off. I loved coming down to York, but not now. Not only did you have the "Yorkshire Ripper", but now have the "Yorkshire Rip Off".
