Of course the images on the CD sleeve are stunning, but not even the most ardent J-Lo anorak can take Lopez seriously as a musical force, can they?
Asking around the office, no one could hum a single bar from any J-Lo song, except possibly Jenny From The Block, and that was useless. Yet, somehow, Lopez has scored hit after hit after hit. Hits no one remembers. Rebirth gives more of the same: beautifully polished, yet totally vacuous colour by number R&B grooves. The most interesting is Get Right, the current single. But it is only the sample of James Brown's Soul Power '74 that gives it any punch. Nice booty, shame about the music.
