I AM in favour of the developments outlined by Elvington Parks. They purchased an historical airfield with one of the best runways in England. If they do not get permission to develop the facilities then the runway will deteriorate further and end up as a weed-overgrown dumping ground.
As to the outcry about noise, I for one enjoy the sound of high performance engines and am in awe of those capable of designing and building them. How I would love to drive them.
Let York be a part of progress and not a place that lives in the past.
Too soon I will be enjoying a noise free world. I want to get all the pleasure I can from the present one.
I visited the air museum on Saturday and discovered that the entrance had been taken over by travellers. Which would the chairman of Elvington Parish Council prefer, a few aeroplanes and cars, or a load of travellers paying no council tax and leaving litter?
