International bowling talent Alistair Domville is looking to exchange his bronze medal of four years ago for gold at the Cerebral Palsy ISRA World Games.
The 20-year-old York man came away from the 2001 games in Nottingham with a bronze and will be hoping to do even better in America in July - if he can raise the funds needed to get there.
The World Games is the highest competitive level available to bowls players with disabilities as bowls is not - at least at the moment - a Paralympic sport.
And Domville, who bowls in the category for those least affected by the condition, is clear on his aims this summer in Connecticut.
He said: "I would like to do better than I did last time and win this competition."
Domville, who also captains the Dunnington men's thirds tennis team and plays for the Yorkshire Terriers cricket team for people with disabilities, will play in the singles, pairs and fours in his bid for glory.
He said: "I got into bowls when I was about 12 and have been doing it now for eight years.
"The thing I love about it is that it is for all ages. It doesn't matter whether you are 14 or 70 really - it doesn't make any difference.
"The only thing that matters is experience and you can build that up at any age.
"You can't do that with most sports."
Domville started bowling at New Earswick at the age of 12, where his brother Rob is also a member.
He regularly represents the club in county matches and he has also had a wider impact, winning both the National Cerebral Palsy Doubles championships in Gedling, Nottinghamshire, and the Disability Sport England National Singles Championship at Solihull, in previous years.
However, everyone selected for the eight-strong England team needs to get £1,500 together to cover travel, accommodation, meals, team kit and support staff costs.
Next Generation, where Domville works as a general assistant, have already pledged £500 with money also coming in from other sources.
But he is still short of the target.
Anyone wishing to help Alistair meet the cost of representing his country, call New Earswick indoor bowls centre stadium manager Andy Webster on 01904 750230.
