FOOTBALLERS at Alne Primary School have had a wish for two new kits granted by the Football Foundation.
The sports funding body awarded the school £400 to buy one blue and one white strip for their small-sided teams.
The girls' team nearly managed a golden debut in the new colours at the recent Easingwold girls' five-a-side, but were pipped in the final by Sheriff Hutton.
Headteacher Paul Platt explained that the funds had been granted after the school gained FA Charter status to make them eligible for cash help.
They have now become one of 400 groups across the country to receive a new strip from the Foundation.
