YOUR report about Royal Ascot at York needing 500 police officers was amazing but isn't it even more amazing that, all of a sudden, such a large number of police officers can be assembled?
You rarely see police officers around the outskirts of York where yobbish crimes are continuously committed by youths.
They hang around the streets, drinking, causing damage and frightening old people to the extent that they daren't come out after dark.
This issue needs addressing.
York citizens are fed up with events such as Ascot causing major traffic congestion, and being subjected to drunken racegoers causing trouble in the city centre.
