Heroics from Sheriff Hutton goalkeeper Mark Phillips booked his team a place in the York FA Saturday Junior Cup final.
Division three Sheriff Hutton saw off division two Riccall on penalties.
Riccall had taken the lead care of Jeremy Jones after 15 minutes, but Sheriff Hutton were in front by half time thanks to goals by Billy Allan and Dale Phillips.
A Jason Roughley lob, however, sent the tie into extra time, where Harry Newton restored Sheriff Hutton's lead before Roughley again levelled.
Phillips' hour of glory beckoned in the penalty shoot-out where he saved two and scored one to seal a 4-3 win.
In the other semi-final, Dringhouses Reserves took the lead against Ouseburn United through Andy Barkway before Matthew Crowl equalised with a free-kick from the half-way line.
Barkway headed Dringhouses back in front but Andrew Kitchin hammered home with less than a minute to go. After extra-time Dringhouses secured the win 5-4 on penalties.
Extra-time graced both the York FA Saturday Senior Cup semi-finals.
Copmanthorpe drew 1-1 with leaders Dringhouses at the end of regulation time with Terry Hibbert and Dringhouses hot-shot Mark Woodward on the scoresheet.
Shane Laverack put Dringhouses ahead in the second period of extra time, and Woodward made it 3-1.
They will face Huntington Rovers in the final after they beat Kartiers 3-1, also in extra time. Chris Dyson (2) and Iain Dunn scored for the winners after Neil Taylor's opener.
