Someone should stamp on this creeping, inching return of prog rock tendencies.
None of the cool kids have them so if you're feeling proggish, you may as well wear a black and yellow T-shirt - the most visible combination of colours, bores will tell you - declaring "Geek Squad". Cass McCombs will fit on your playlist - a little bit Pink Floyd, a bit Phil Collins - but beware of a nasty shock. Halfway through, like a bolt of summer lightning, there's a good song. Sacred Heart is the song the Bunnymen never released, but here it is, a diamond in the rough. As for the rest, let a Cass lyric do the job: "What complete and utter rot." You said it, Cass.
