YORK'S revolting restaurateurs stopped the city council making a meal of its parking reforms yesterday
Originally the highways department planned to phase out the extra double yellow lines in two stages.
But that would have been unfair on those businesses which had to wait for the return of on-street parking.
So well done to the Fossgate restaurant owners who whisked up a storm of protest - and well done to the council for swallowing its pride and doing the right thing.
