GOALKEEPER George Catling kept dreams of a York Under-11 Schools' cup treble alive after hitting top form in their 2-1 Yorkshire Cup quarter-final defeat of Bradford.
He made two outstanding saves in quick succession to stop Bradford going ahead with the scores at 1-1 before Tim Patton scored a late winner.
Sam Fowler whipped in the opener from a Jacob Gore cross but a counterattack caught York out and Bradford levelled.
However, with time running out, Gore and Jamie Wilstrop went close before Charlie Clamp gathered the ball on the right after good work by Aaron Hudson and Patton took on three players before slotting into the bottom corner.
York's U12s came away from Spen Valley with a 1-1 draw on a heavy pitch.
James Edmond capitalised on a goalkeeping error to put York ahead and both he and Adam Thornton went close to doubling the lead.
Spen Valley held on and five minutes from the end grabbed the equaliser with a fierce shot past goalkeeper Tom Young. Steven Jarman was York's man of the match.
None of the York Schoolboys football teams are in action this weekend.
The U11s return on March 26 with a trip to Scarborough while the U12s entertain Barnsley in the semi-final of the Michael Dale Trophy on April 9.
