THERE were outstanding results for three York athletes in the English Schools' Cross Country Championships at Norwich on Saturday.
In the Intermediate Girls race, Vicky Graves (Archbishop Holgate) finished 40th and Vicky Needham (Canon Lee) was 54th. Both are in the younger year of the two-year age group.
In the Junior Boys race, Iain Lynn (Manor) finished 43rd. There were over 330 runners in each race.
Other good results in the top half of the fast and competitive races were Lorna Young 71st and Emma Willits (Fulford) 113th in the Seniors, Emma Macalister-Hall (St Peter's) 99th in the Inters, Jodie Spencer (Millthorpe) 137th and Elizabeth Eden (Queen Margaret's) 147th in the Juniors, Philip Graves (Archbishop Holgate) 109th and Michael Williams (Holy Family) 114th in the Inters.
Also in the North Yorkshire team were Lauren Mason and Charlotte Maxted (Tadcaster), Katie Mellor (St Peter's), Laura-Jane Day (Holy Family) and Steve Archer (York College).
