QUEEN Margaret's School pulled off a netballing coup by winning the under-12 York and District Netball Tournament for the first time.
The 'A' team swept to victory after scoring 33 goals in six 12-minute matches - and only conceding three in total.
They beat St Olave's in their semi-final but the icing on the cake came with a 6-2 final defeat of hosts Joseph Rowntree to claim the shield for the first time at that age group. Jo Ro had demolished Fulford 8-1 in their semi-final.
Queen Margaret's fielded teams in the corresponding 'B' and 'C' tournaments, with the 'B' team finishing third out of ten.
The 'B' tournament was won by Joseph Rowntree who won all their eight matches with Billie Royle and Lauren Roberts to the fore with their shooting. St Olave's were runners-up.
Queen Margaret's: Davina Thorne, Tamsin Martin-Smith, Lotty Forbes Adam, Natasha Norman, Poppy Ropner, Genevieve Owen and Lucinda Cornes.
Joseph Rowntree 'A': Rachel Wood (capt), Paige Benson, Josie Bellerby, Olivia Pepper, Krystyne Pommeroy, Alice McPherson, Darcy Stedman.
Joseph Rowntree 'B': Julia Wong (capt), Lauren Roberts, Billie Royle, Megan Precious, Tabitha Buck, Charlotte Cox, Kirstie Shipley.
The final York tournament takes place at St Olave's tomorrow for Under-15 'A' and 'B' teams.
