ANYONE who travels the ring road will have noticed the new rumble strips which have started to appear creating an extremely uncomfortable, spine-wrenching ride before each roundabout.
Are we into the silly season with council spending again? We already have warning signs, different coloured surfaces, floodlit roundabouts and enough graffiti on the road to make you wonder whether the Tour de France cycle race has just passed through.
Why these as well? No doubt the council will come up with some plausible reason for wasting our money. Have councillors considered our emergency ambulance service having to travel at speed over these strips?
Once the council has finished spreading this new disease I estimate someone who is rushed from Copmanthorpe will have to face a minimum of 18 rumble strips to reach hospital. How painful might that be? Stop it now.
