I WRITE in answer to the "anger at the new bollard scheme" (March 11). York's first intelligent bollard is under attack once again.
Like all automatic machines it does as it's told. Motorists would be fine if they approached it correctly and left it to complete its cycle, instead of trying to beat the system.
As for another automatic bollard, I am all in favour; not on the other side of Stonebow but at the junction of St Andrewgate, Goodramgate, and Davygate, all of which are used as short cuts through town. But what is the point of having intelligent bollards if you don't have intelligent drivers?
