Stamford Bridge eased their relegation worries in Leeper Hare York and District League division one with an impressive 2-1 home win over New Earswick.
All the goals came in the second period. Simon Walters put the home side in front and Richard Marshall equalised before Peter Carpenter hit the winner for Stamford Bridge.
Despite a spirited second half display by Selby RSSC, a 4-3 home defeat to Norwich Union seems certain to condemn the Selby side to relegation after just one season in division one.
Norwich Union raced into a four-goal lead before the break, with goals from Nick Henshaw, Tom Brittain, Matt Hildon and Andrew Wood.
An inspired substitution led to Steve Mahoney reducing the deficit with his first touch. Further goals came from Andy Jones and Gordon Campbell, but the visitors held out to claim all three points.
Easingwold completed the double over Wilberfoss last season and they repeated the feat with a 4-3 home win.
A Chris Willis free-kick put Wilberfoss in front before goals from Andrew Metcalfe Snr and a 20 yard 'bullet' of s shot from Steve Guilliatt gave the hosts the lead at the break.
Two goals from Andrew Metcalfe Jnr kept Easingwold in front, before Wilberfoss hit back with a brace from John Heads.
A round-up of Leeper Hare York and District League Reserve divisions will be published later this week.
