The debate in the letters pages about the expansion to the ground floor of the Private Shop in Bootham has been interesting.
When I worked in the city centre I walked past this place every day for eight years.
The three sex shops in York operate with more discretion than the local branch of Ann Summers or the top shelves of most newsagents, and are not as noticeable as protesters would have you believe.
If the owners of these establishments are looking for new locations, what about Acomb?
It would make a change from amusement arcades, bookies, estate agents, and charity shops which seem to spring up every time a property becomes empty in Front Street. Just a titillating thought.
