WANDERERS put one hand on the York John Smith's Sunday Morning League division five title with a 9-4 win over Thomas's Hotel.
A terrific opening saw Daniel Coulson and Matt Hartas give Wanderers a two-goal lead.
An own goal allowed Thomas's into the game for a short period before a brace from Darren Brandon and one for Michael Fox saw the home side go in 5-1 up at the break.
Taylor pulled one back at the start of the second half but further goals from Coulson, Hartas and a Dale Phillips double put the result beyond the visitors, for whom Stevie Scott netted two more to take his tally to 32 for the season and move ever nearer the club record.
Stand-in Cawood 'keeper Bill Atton saved two Quaker Wood penalties but had no chance of stopping Thompson from finally levelling in the second half.
But Cawood, who had gone ahead through Carrier, were not to be denied as goals from Knapton and Cronian secured a 3-1 win.
CPP kept their faint promotion hopes alive with a 6-1 win at Firkin 103 thanks to a hat-trick from Pursey.
Tony Turner hit five and Jon Sargent three as Fulford Reserves ran out 8-3 winners over Pocklington Rangers, whose scorers were Laverack (2) and Ackroyd.
In a whirlwind start, Wrights Sports Bar missed a third minute penalty but still went ahead two minutes later through Free at Edinburgh Arms.
Tomaino levelled on nine minutes but two goals in 60 seconds from S Stockdale made it 3-1 to the sports bar after 20 minutes.
James Kennedy reduced the arrears before the break with a powerful header for Edinburgh Arms. Wrights Sports Bar restored their two goal advantage on the hour through M Stockdale.
Paul Brett once again put Edinburgh Arms within sight of a point but resolute defending denied them.
