EASINGWOLD will play Bishopthorpe in the final of the York FA Acaster Steel Cup after two thrilling Under-12 semi-finals.

Easingwold just edged out Pocklington, scoring from the spot through Spencer Brown after Matthew Goddard was brought down.

Hoggard caused several problems down the left for Easingwold and it was no surprise when they increased their lead with a close range shot from Angus Taylor.

Pocklington's Garry Marriott went past three defenders before reducing the arrears and Easingwold were indebted to the post to keep out a Bradley White shot.

But despite plenty of pressure, Pocklington could not get the equaliser.

In the other semi-final, Bishopthorpe edged out Pickering Town on penalties after a cracker of a match.

Bishopthorpe were the stronger side early on and James Edmond shot them ahead on ten minutes and the same player netted number two from 20 yards two minutes later.

David Thompson pulled one back for Pickering whose John Birbeck scored a hat-trick within 15 minutes of the restart to put the young Pikes 4-2 up.

Bishops' captain Daniel Owers grabbed an opportunist goal and then five minutes from time Edmond completed his hat-trick to make it 4-4 and force the tie into extra time.

There were missed chances by both sides in extra time and Bishopthorpe won the ensuing penalty shoot-out 4-3.
