Marsh Run, who came good for Mick Easterby at Carlisle last month, returns to the Cumbrian course tomorrow with excellent prospects of following-up.
Amateur-rider Tom Greenall, who is attached to Easterby's Sheriff Hutton yard, again takes the mount on the six-year-old in the Nick Horn Memorial 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle over three miles.
After several placed efforts, Marsh Run opened her winning account with a gritty success at Carlisle four weeks ago. She made much of the running and stayed on dourly to beat Diamond Sal, the 6-4 favourite, by half a length. Diamond Sal has won at Musselburgh since then.
The extra half-mile of tomorrow's race will, if anything, suit Marsh Run even better and she is awarded my Nap vote.
Neil Mulholland, who recently moved from the Middleham stable of trainer Ferdy Murphy to the Borders establishment of Peter Monteith, can score a hit for his new boss aboard Ideal Du Bois Beury in the Canonbie Handicap Chase.
Mulholland, who rode a winner for Monteith at Kelso last Saturday, should have a good ride on Ideal Du Bois Beury, who was only narrowly denied by Jolika at Ayr on his latest start.
Huka Lodge should go well for trainer Len Lungo and jockey Bruce Gibson in the Elite Racing Club Handicap Chase.
Lungo, who trains for the sponsors of this long-distance event, has gained consistent form from Huka Lodge this season. With the soft ground in his favour, this thorough stayer should be hard to beat.
Saltburn trainer Keith Reveley, who has his horses in good form, can score again with recent winner Totally Scottish in the Weaver Conditional Jockeys' Claiming Hurdle.
At Wincanton, Charlie Mann, who had two winners at Doncaster last Saturday, can succeed with Sonnant in the Blue Square Beginners' Chase over an extended three miles. The six-year-old has been runner-up on his last three starts and is overdue a winning turn. Noel Fehily has the mount.
