YORK City are awaiting the results of a knee scan on top scorer Andy Bishop.

The 22-year-old striker limped out of the action during the second half of Saturday's 2-1 home defeat against Exeter City and is now doubtful for Monday night's trip to Halifax Town.

City would hope to include their 10-goal leading marksman at the Shay with Halifax moving up to second last night after a 3-0 victory at Gravesend and Northfleet.

But, as a precautionary measure, on-loan Doncaster Rovers striker Ben Jackson will not now play for the reserves at Boston United tonight.

City boss Billy McEwan said: "We are awaiting the results of a scan on Andy Bishop and he's having treatment at the minute so it's hard to tell whether he will be ready for Halifax. Ben Jackson will not be playing for the reserves because we can't take any risks and lose him as well if he gets a knock."

Former Burnley midfielder Paul Weller has now left KitKat Crescent after a trial with McEwan adding: "He's a bit similar to what we have got and it was unfair to keep expecting him to travel here for training every day."

Club captain Steve Davis aims to complete another 90 minutes for City reserves at Boston tonight.

City reserves: Stockdale, Kamara, Baynes, Davies, Davis, Grant, Coad, Yalcin, Paul Robinson, Arthur, Foote. Subs: Hollingsworth, Reid, Green, Lyon.
