KIRKBYMOORSIDE Reserves will meet Union Rovers in next month's Ryedale Hospital Football Cup final after beating Black Swan Pickering 2-1.

The Moorsiders, fielding a strong side as their first team's game was postponed, opened the scoring through Rob McDermid and, after Black Swan substitute Matthew Smith levelled, Aaron Rivis won it with an unstopabble 25-yard cross cum shot.

Two late goals helped Thornton-le-Dale ease their relegation fears in RJF Homes Beckett League division one with a 3-1 win over Rosedale, denting the latter's top-four hopes.

Mike Lealman netted for Thornton and a John Tindal penalty did likewise for Rosedale before Mark Aconley and an own goal in the last two minutes sealed the points.

Lee Otterburn was the hat-trick hero as Duncombe Park moved off the bottom with a shock 3-2 win at Sinnington.

He scored twice early on and, after the Sinners drew level through a first-half brace by defender Rob Atkinson, completed his first-ever senior treble to win it.

Pete Tiffany was Union Rovers' match-winner in their hastily rearranged game with Aislaby United, who were thrice denied late on by keeper Mick Norman. Union moved second in the table. Aislaby this week face Black Swan Pickering in a vital derby.

Slingsby increased their lead at the top of division two with a 3-0 win over unlucky Gillamoor. Dave Allen, Fraser Land and an own goal were on target in the second half.

Coxwold had only ten men but beat Bagby and Balk 2-0, Rob Proudley getting both goals though Adrian Lecenby saw his penalty saved by Bagby's man of the match, young Tommy Hunter.

Ampleforth left St Clement's shell-shocked with a 5-0 thumping. Matt Petch and Dave Wallinger scored braces in either half and the other goal came from impressive 16-year-old Kai Morley.
