Bishopthorpe'S York John Smith's Sunday Morning League division three title hopes all but vanished as they went down 4-1 at home to chasing Fulford.
Sykes had given Bishopthorpe the lead but a stirring second half performance from the visitors saw Nigel Simpson claim a hat-trick and David Chapman added the fourth.
Hambleton's push got back on track as goals from Croad 2, Farrar and Mackay earned them a 4-0 win over The Five Lions.
Inland Revenue climbed away from the bottom with a 5-1 win over Real Way Station. Hunter opened the scoring on the half hour as he latched onto a chip from Mark Lund to net from close range.
Two goals in two minutes before the break from Ambler and Lund killed the game off.
Ambler added his second on the hour, Simpson pulled one back from the spot on 74 minutes, but three minutes later Lund hit his second with a 20-yard screamer to complete the scoring.
Watkinson scored twice as Shoulder of Mutton hit Barlby for six without reply.
