THE Duke of York told a gathering of business leaders of the "window of opportunity" that will be opened when Royal Ascot comes to the city in June.
The prince told a 600-strong audience at the annual dinner of the York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce that it was clear that they were "open for business".
He said: "I think you have a number of opportunities in the next few months to really put on a terrific show for Yorkshire.
Ascot is a huge opportunity to open a window for York and the region as a whole."
