AS the big freeze started to dig in half the scheduled games were lost at the weekend to frozen pitches.
The big winners of the day in division one were Derwent United who won 3-2 at Hounds thanks to goals by Thornton (2) and Collins to give their own title hopes a boost.
Jackson and Collier netted for the home side.
Mark Willoughby put Ainsty Panthers in front against Wigginton Grasshoppers who then slid to a 5-0 defeat as Paul King (3) and Paul Barron took over
Division two leaders Shipton roared back from 2-0 down to beat Deramore Arms.
An own goal by Shipton defender Dave Cooper gifted Arms the lead and when Phil Grayson made it two at the start of the second period Shipton's unbeaten record was under serious threat.
But Blake struck to reduce the arrears, Fratson levelled and Stilgoe put them in front before West secured all three points with a fourth. Mark Triffitt added a late penalty for Deramore to complete the scoring.
Chris Dyson took his tally for the season to 27 goals with two strikes in Nestl Flag's 7-2 victory over Haxby Lions. Pete Laidlaw (3), Neil Cadywold and Ramblidge were also on target while Foy
and Machen netted for Lions.
Stimpson hit both for York Nomads in their 2-2 draw at Edward VII.
Bishopthorpe's division three title hopes took another dent as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Barlby Athletic.
Goals from Sykes and Turner were not to be enough as Scott and Pears cancelled them out for Barlby.
Joe Smart hit a hat-trick as Fulford maintained their challenge for honours with a 3-2 home win over second placed Hambleton for whom Farrar and Croad were on the mark.
Skelton opened up an 11 point lead at the top of division four with a 5-1 win at Castle Howard Ox with Neale Holmes scoring yet another hat-trick. Robinson and Barrett added the others with Bulmer scoring for Ox.
Matty Muscroft struck five as Selby Olympia Reserves thrashed Black Swan 14-3.
Oxtoby (2), Sayles and Hollinshead gave Gypsy Moth a 4-1 lead but Enterprise hit back to draw 4-4.
Although Albion Vaults dominated the early possession they were lacking the finishing touch and Rumours capitalised with two goals on the break from Lawrence and Gargan. Charlesworth pulled one back only to see Beddows restore Rumours' two-goal advantage. Vaults never gave up and were rewarded with goals from Charlesworth again and Ward to take a share of the points.
Matthew Hartas (2) and Daniel Coulson were on target to see Wanderers to a 3-1 win at Wrights Sports Bar and keep them top of division five.
Goals from Terry Taylor and Stevie Scott earned Thomas' Hotel a 2-0 win over Firkin 103 to keep their promotion hopes on track.
Quaker Wood also kept their chances alive with a 3-2 win at Edinburgh Arms. They went into a 2-0 lead before a firmly struck shot from Joe Vaughan and a header from Kevin Hymer dragged Edinburgh Arms level. But Quaker Wood weren't to be denied and five minutes from time they got the winner.
Selby Griffin's scorers in their 3-0 victory over Cawood were Harris, Ranby and Fletcher.
