YORK University are the tops in student sport in the city.
The inaugural sports competition between the University of York and their counterparts from St John's College saw the Uni emerge as 44-32 victors.
Hundreds of sporty students took part in a series of different events on both campuses during a full day of action.
Three points were awarded to the winners of each section, with both teams receiving a point in the event of a draw.
Although St John's swept the board in the four men's football matches to collect a dozen points, the University proved the stronger all-round team and were presented with the Ashman-Leslie Trophy at a celebration evening at Toffs night club in the city centre.
