Heworth will get out of the re-election zone in National Conference League division two should they win at fellow strugglers Cottingham on Saturday.
The Villagers would go level on points with the Tigers, albeit having played two games more, and have a better points-difference. They would also leapfrog third-bottom Huddersfield Sharks, who are not in action.
The last re-election spot is between these three sides.
Heworth 'A' will keep alive their faint hopes of reaching the top-four play-offs in Yorkshire League division three if they overcome Stanley Rangers 'A' at Elmpark Way.
