CARLTON United lost for the first time in eight matches after having three players sent off in a 3-0 RJF Homes Beckett League second division defeat against leaders Slingsby.

Darren Dyer, Ben Brownhill and Simon Collier all netted for Slingsby as United finished the game with eight men after Ben Gilbank, Iain McKeown and Gavin Skaife all saw red.

Elsewhere, there was a double blow for Bagby and Balk who saw skipper Stuart Pollitt admitted to hospital with a broken leg before going down 5-2 at home to Union Rovers 2nds.

Martin Winstanley-Smith (2), Mark Jeffles, Dwaine Young and Lee Rudd netted for Union with Rob Metcalfe and Darren Bell replying for Bagby, who played with ten men until half-time as they waited for an 11th man to arrive from work.

Ryedale Sports Club stayed second after goals from John Sherwood and John Reed secured a 2-0 victory over Gillamoor.

A Mike Brown brace and an Adam Morley effort earned Old Malton 3rds a 3-1 win against Ampleforth, whose consolation was a Sam Smith penalty.

Goals from St Clement's WMC's Jordan Hornby (2) and Fraser Russell and Coxwold's Rob Proudley (2) and Danny Jaques, saw the sides share the spoils in a six-goal thriller.

In division one, Sinnington upset second-placed Rosedale 2-1 thanks to a man-of-the-match performance from goalkeeper David Waind.

The Sinners 'keeper made a brilliant penalty save and pulled off a string of other first half stops but was powerless to prevent John Tindal scoring a second spot-kick.

But Jonathon Brown's brace then secured maximum points for the Sinners.

Union Rovers inflicted a heaviest defeat of the season on Kirkbymoorside reserves, triumphing 6-0 with Pete Tiffany (4), Paul Holder and Paul Downes on the scoresheet. Holder also missed a penalty.

Black Swan Pickering eased their relegation fears by beating bottom club Duncombe Park with Bobby Ehima, who transferred from Kirkdale United on the morning of the game, getting the only goal.
