Bev Lawson won the opener for Blacksmiths before Amanda Britton kick-started Cygnet 'A's victorious surge.

Cueball 'B' rode their luck to beat Clifton 'A' 6-3. Slip 'A' won by the same scoreline at Independent as did Leeman 'B' at Dringhouses. Slip 'B' cleaned up in the pairs for a 7-2 victory against Flag.

Division two leaders Shepherd 'A' were taken to the wire at Tap whose Nanette Rawstron-Sam Lewis set up the decider in which Shepherds' Anne Allinson-Denise Fowler were successful.

Cygnet 'B' secured second place with good scoring from Cindy Benton as they beat close rivals Slipper. Jubilee's last pairing Sylvia Keenan-Maxine Midgley secured their victory at Tang Hall WMC's expense.

Sun 'B' also secured a last game win through Chris Garbutt-Joan Harrison at Clifton 'B'. Sun 'A' were also thankful to their last pairing Sally Swales-Kath Williams against Burnholme.

Woolpack leapt into second spot in division three with a resounding win at Cygnet 'D', leaders Leeman 'C' with three tons from Shelagh Kenny did the double over their 'A' team.

Barbara Johnson-Joan Hunter were last gasp winners for Cueball 'A' at Leeman 'D'.

Joan Knowles-Dot Sellers secured Volunteer 'B's 5-4 victory against Turf. Volunteer 'A' suffered the same scoreline defeat at Shepherd 'B', Sue Fay-Jacky Sargeant sealing victory.
