Heworth 'A' pulled off a thrilling last-minute win as Gary Watkinson coolly stroked over a penalty to give them a 22-20 Yorkshire League division three triumph over Eastmoor 'A'.
Eastmoor opened with a penalty before the young home squad, which included six under-18s players, scored tries from skipper Sean Brough, set up by Sam Clarke, and Paul Gill, from a Danny Sinclair pass.
Michael Welch then latched onto a Clarke kick to increase the lead, Paul Thompson goaling.
Eastmoor hit back in the second half, scoring three converted tries, including a controversial penalty try, but Heworth responded with the clock ticking down as Ben Eastwood made a terrific break and had Sam Johnson in support to split the defence and reach the line.
Watkinson equalised with the conversion and booted the late, late penalty to win it.
