HONOURS were ground out to nought in the top division three duel as fourth-placed Tadcaster and second-placed Hemingbrough shared a 0-0 draw.
In a contrasting clash, leaders Sheriff Hutton fell behind to an early goal from bottom-placed Wheldrake but they recovered to win 8-2. Kev Butler hit his second hat-trick of the season and scored for the sixth game on the bounce andwas well-supported by Simon Roy, who also hit three goals. Billy Allen and Stephen Jefferson completed the rout.
Moor Lane dropped two valuable home points when they surrendered a 3-1 lead with only two minutes remaining in their game with Norton.
Andrew Kenyon had given Moor Lane the lead but Norton levelled with their only chance in the half before goals from Simon Gaines and Gary Tutt restored the hosts' advantage.
But a mistake by the home 'keeper gifted Norton a second goal on 88 minutes before Norton took a point with a penalty deep into injury-time.
Cawood toppled Heworth 5-3 thanks to a fine goal-keeping display by Carl Blundell.
Heworth were 3-0 up inside 20 minutes with goals from Danny Walton, Jamie Allerton and Paul Brinscombe but the home side were level before the break and added two further goals in the second period, the Cawood marksmen being Billy Hatton, John Knowles (2), Ray Meehan and John-Ross Carrier. Blundell saved a Heworth penalty and saw another spot-kick blazed over the bar.
