LIVERPOOL FC may have been going through an uneasy time on the footballing front, but Anfield Dream has excellent prospects of hitting the target at Lingfield tomorrow.
The three-year-old, trained by John Jenkins, lines-up for the Bet Direct On ITV Interactive Handicap over seven furlongs and is napped to oblige in the hands of Eddie Ahern.
Anfield Dream got off the mark over six furlongs on this course last month, fulfilling previous promise by justifying favouritism in workmanlike style to score by almost two lengths from Stephanie's Mind.
An extra furlong tomorrow should not inconvenience Anfield Dream, and indeed, may even benefit him, and although he faces the hat-trick seeking Cerebus and the promising Green Pirate, a bold bid is anticipated.
Trainer David Gandolfo will be hoping to make a quick return on Cicatrice in the opening ITV Interactive Betting And Gaming Handicap.
Gandolfo snapped-up the gelding for £5,000 after he had won a claiming race at Southwell last month after coming in for significant support which ensured he was sent off as favourite.
He is not to be underestimated here, especially with Richard Hughes, who has been on duty in India in recent weeks, booked for the mount.
Middleham trainer Karl Burke has a good chance of landing the richest race on the card, the £10,000 Champions League Betting On ITV Handicap, with Takes Tutu.
Darren Williams' mount has finished second in his last two races and looked rather unlucky on his latest start when finishing a half-length runner-up to Katiypour after meeting trouble in running.
On the debit side, it is over two years since he last won a race, so he may not be one to rely on implicitly, but he certainly deserves a chance to shine here.
Paul Blockley has his team in fine form and the trainer can complete a Lingfield double, courtesy of Town End Tom (4-40) and recent winner Broughton Knows (5-10).
Southwell's banded meeting is pretty mundane stuff, but there will be six winners all the same, and nobody could begrudge Beamsley Beacon a share of the limelight in the opening five-furlongs dash.
Trained near Darlington by Micheal Dods, the four-year-old has finished runner-up in his last three starts. Overdue a winning turn, he is taken to finally go one better in the hands of Norton apprentice Tom Eaves.
Recent winner True To Yourself (4-30) may be able to follow-up in the hands of Tony Culhane, while Peregrine Hawk (5-00), who has been sent over from Ireland by trainer Patrick Morris, can reward his enterprising connections with a win in the concluding event.
Tuesday's tips:
