YORK City's new boss Billy McEwan has decided to move the home dug-out closer to the David Longhurst Stand again.
McEwan was hoping supporters would give the team a rousing reception in his first game in charge at KitKat Crescent against Woking today and wanted to experience the atmosphere from what is traditionally the noisiest end of the ground.
It is believed the decision to swap the dug-outs was made in 2000 when then manager Terry Dolan was heckled by David Longhurst Stand regulars.
Said McEwan: "When I arrived I was surprised the home dug-out was positioned closer to the away end than the David Longhurst Stand.
"We've decided to move the home dug-out back to its original position, as I felt it would benefit the bench to be closer to the York fans on the terrace. We need lots of vocal support over the coming weeks."
