FURTHER to Chris Clayton's letter reporting the findings of a recently conducted independent survey which found that areas with the highest youth spending also had fewer problems with crime and drug use (February 11).
I am saddened to learn that City of York Council obviously regards such findings as nonsense, because it has decided on the closure of yet another youth club in York, our local club in Fishergate.
Youth services provision in York should be a priority, especially in the light of headlines about the distressing anti-social behaviour of some of our wayward youth.
So, come on City of York Council, invest in our young people today, because if you don't we may all regret it in the future.
