Bubl joins the crowd of polished young men singing swing-era ballads (the Mouse Pack?) and drafts in some excellent arrangers in this bid to fill Sinatra' shoes.
Don Sebesky paraphrases Nina Simone's classic arrangement on Feeling Good, Bill Holman writes terrific, fresh brass on A Foggy Day and David Foster slows Quando, Quando, Quando from its usual samba to gentle bossa nova. This is an album highlight; two lows are Can't Buy Me Love and I've Got You Under My Skin. Only tenth-rate pub singers "jazz-up" Lennon/ McCartney, and taking Nelson Riddle's timeless arrangement for Sinatra note for note, including the famous trombone solo, is a no-win challenge. So do Ole Blue Eyes' shoes fit? Sorry, Michael must wait until Harry Connick Jr has finished with them.
