AN UNDERGROUND collaboration that is hardly front page news, but Superwolf is a minor musical moment nonetheless.
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy has carved himself quite a name with his sly, backwoods folk persona while Sweeney is a guitarist in Zwan and other un-heard bands. The opener, My Home Is The Sea, is atypical but interesting - a Neil Young-style brooder - while much of the rest is closer to Billy's leafy home ground. Sweeney's music quietly frames Billy's ruminations on love, sex and the slippery slope of a world going wrong. While not as strong as The Master And Everyone, Billy remains one of the finest songwriters America has, with the gentle love song Only Someone Running irrefutable proof.
