OPTOMETRIST Ruth Perrott is celebrating the reopening of her Acomb practice following a "spectacular" £50,000 refurbishment of the premises.
The two-month refurbishment of the practice in York Road, Acomb, was managed by Paul Foster, of Paul Foster Interiors, and Matthew Ward, of Lightly & Lightly Project Solutions.
Ruth said: "I am delighted with the fast turnaround of the project, which involved major structural alterations and a complete refit of all internal fittings and furniture.
"The practice is now more easily accessible to our older patients and also complies with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act."
Ruth has practised as an optician in Yorkshire since 1982, working initially at York Hospital and then at her own practice in Castleford.
For the past 20 years she has operated a domiciliary eye service in and around York, visiting patients at home or in care who cannot get out to visit their usual optometrist. Ruth added the Acomb premises to her business last June.
