NEW £9 million business units at Thorp Arch Estate near Wetherby - the biggest new-build development in the estate's 60-year history - are complete and ready for occupation.
They are expected to generate about 100 jobs.
The 21 high-quality, small business units, totalling 25,600 sq ft, and five larger warehouse and workshop units, totalling 44,280 sq ft, have been completed on time and within budget by Malton-based S Harrison Construc-tion.
Work started last summer for property services and property investment management company Arlington Securities, which has created the new facilities at the 385-acre estate, which is owned by Hanover Property Unit Trust.
Agents King Sturge report strong interest in the new parkland units and warehouses, particularly from York and Harrogate.
Tim Munns, a director of Wharfedale Property Management Ltd, which manages the estate for Hanover Property Unit Trust, said there had been strong interest because of the closeness of the estate to the A1.
