In response to Coun Janet Greenwood ('Stop grumbling', Letters, February 9) I have to agree that the appointment of an Ascot project manager is a good thing, although the funding of this position is another matter.
However, the comments she made about "sarcastic comments", street cleaning and road re-surfacing are very strange.
Maybe York residents complain about these because they see little, if any, evidence of improvement.
So maybe the message to the city council is that while you say you are doing more, the fact is that the residents do not see the benefit. So the message from one resident to the council is - try harder.
