I HOPE nobody was fooled by the headline 'Flats plan is scaled down' (January 26).
The new plans for development on the Connaught Court parkland, in Fulford, York, are almost a duplicate of the old ones.
The overall number of houses and apartments is only reduced from 92 to 90, and the number of proposed car-parking places has actually increased.
The developers sound so kind, providing parking places for the nearby health centre, but that means replacing parkland with Tarmac.
People can now park alongside Main Street, but if the proposed double-lane road junction is carved through the wall and conservation area off Main Street, there would be a net loss of parking places close to the health centre and church.
I'm also annoyed that the developers have "reset" the count of objections to zero. None of the previous objection letters now count, and I also fear the campaign petition, which has more than 1,000 signatures, will now also count for nothing. Does that seem fair?
