Paul Moloney, who broke a leg in a fall at Kempton in November, returns to the scene of the accident tomorrow after yesterday at Ludlow winning for the first time since his mishap.
The Irish-born jockey, who rode Just Wiz to victory in Ludlow's selling hurdle, has a good chance of scoring tomorrow on Royal Atalza in the Sunbury Handicap Chase.
Moloney rode the Geoff Huffer-trained gelding into third place at Wetherby last Saturday. Wearing a visor for the first time, Royal Atalza ran well to chase home Mouseski, the favourite, and Royal Emperor.
Royal Atalza would not need to improve much on that effort to provide Moloney with another winner.
Fairly Smart can take the Mares' Only Novices' Handicap Hurdle. A lightly-raced six-year-old who was a decisive winner at Chepstow three outings ago, Fairly Smart steps up in trip after a couple of defeats. The extra distance should suit her.
Corrib Eclipse is an interesting runner in the CISTM Racing Club Novices' Hurdle over an extended three miles.
Although lacking hurdling experience, Corrib Eclipse is a high-class stayer on the Flat and needs only to combine his galloping ability to some fluent jumping to take a hand in this contest. Robert Thornton, who is riding stacks of winners, has the mount.
At Wolverhampton's Flat meeting, Salon Prive could be hard to catch in the five-furlongs handicap.
Charles Cyzer's five-year-old opened his winning account over this course and distance last month with a pillar-to-post effort. He will not find it easy to use these tactics tomorrow from his wide draw, but he still has plenty of appeal under Ian Mongan.
My Nap vote is awarded to Typhoon Tilly in the Littlewoods Claiming Stakes over a mile and a half.
A course and distance winner last month, the eight-year-old has since finished fourth to Eastborough in similar conditions, but was unsuited by a slow early gallop. The hope is that it will be more truly-run race tomorrow.
