Consummate musician John McCusker has crafted another gem of traditional music.
He was commissioned to write the score for Billy Connolly's Musical Tour Of New Zealand, shown on BBC1, and has now produced a CD to complement the series.
Connolly is no slouch on the banjo, holding his own with the great and the good of folk music, including guitarist Ian Carr, Andy Cutting on diatonic accordion and McCusker himself on fiddle, viola, whistles, cittern and ukulele. The icing on the cake is McCusker's wife, folk diva Kate Rusby, singing tenderly on Wandering Soul.
