TREVOR Threappleton considers the idea of siting a big wheel close to Clifford's Tower to be ludicrous and invites suggestions for further "fairground-like" attractions (Letters, February 7).
I suggest a fun house/laughing gallery could by built in that crescent of buildings now known as St Leonard's Place, and dodgems could be located in the Stonebow at the "intelligent?" bollard. The courthouse may make a suitable location for a team of fortune tellers while waltzers could perhaps enhance the appearance of the roundabouts on the outer ring-road.
Clifford's Tower could even be converted into a modern-day lucky dip tub by using a helicopter with an underslung grab as an airborne crane. Mike Usherwood seems to think the West Yorkshire Police might be able to spare a "chopper" (Letters, February 6).
