I'm sure everyone associated with the Knights was as shocked and disappointed as we were with the news that Steve Ferres was leaving the Knights.

It won't be quite the same on match days from now on.

No Steve pacing up and down before the game, kicking the nearest available object when we concede a try etc.

I remember Danny Brough's dad telling us that when they arrived early for a home match, Steve was there in his suit sweeping the dressing-room corridors clean before doing his duties upstairs in the bar. That seems typical Steve Ferres.

The set-up of the club is such that his departure should not cause panic. If our coaching set cannot keep or attract players when required, then no-one else will.

Steve has been the main factor in building the Knights into a very well run

club. The club are respected and trusted - words which sum up Steve Ferres

perfectly.

So, thanks Steve for what you have done and best wishes to you and your family for the future.

I'm sure whatever you do next will be a success and it would be nice to think that one day you will be back with us at the Knights.

So let's have loads of support at Castleford on Sunday, and at the final whistle make sure we give Steve a send-off he won't forget.

Colin Brown and Pauline Miller,

Crinan Court,
