CITY of York Councillors should never have voted in favour of the Derwenthorpe housing scheme, because it has so many flaws.
To start with, there are no vehicular access roads on to the site without opening up three culs-de-sac in quiet avenues and turning them into through roads
At the planning committee meeting, in Guildhall on January 31, councillors would not listen to residents' concerns and would not allow us to ask questions.
The few residents who had registered to speak were only allowed three minutes each.
Peter Evely, the traffic manager, compared the road network to a plastic cup of water and went on to blind us with computer figures that made no sense.
Even he must know that 540 new houses would generate more than 500 extra cars to add to the congested roads in Tang Hall and Osbaldwick
