NO! No! No! What is this city's tourist bureau thinking of by backing the plan for a 54-metre ferris wheel in central York?
Tourists come to this city because it is the finest historical place in the country, and to admire and enjoy the medieval centre and the skyline unblemished by modern structures.
For the sake of a few temporary jobs are we really willing to allow this monstrosity?
I appeal to the city council to see sense and reject this plan that is so degrading. If people want big wheels they should go to Blackpool, not York.
