AN oustanding late try by winger Martin Protheroe gave Selby the points and a vital boost for the forthcoming Intermediate Cup quarter-final.
Protheroe struck in the second minute of added-on time to make it 27-23 against Bridlington - despite trailing 15-3 at half time.
Brid got another at the start of the second half but stand-in skipper Duncan Phillips pulled a try back and a further three unanswered tries in the last 20 minutes swung the game in Selby's favour.
Selby opened their scoring in the 34th minute with a Paul Scott penalty after Bridlington were caught offside in front of their posts but Brid were the deserved leaders at half-time.
Good second half pressure after Phillips' effort led to centre Shaun Austerfield going over for under the posts to give Paul Scott an easy conversion and make it 23-15.
A rolling maul then released Protheroe for his first try to put Selby within touching distance before beating man after man to score a 60-metre stunner from a Rich Topping pass.
Replacement stand-off Toby Pemberton added the icing on the cake with a conversion from the touch-line.
