HEATH Scaife hit a 131 finish for a fantastic 15 darts in York John Smith's Men's League division one.
Tony Chapman helped with 21 as Shepherd 'A' beat Poacher 6-3. However, Mark Hartley gamed in 18, then hit a 180 while partnering Keith Turner for a 27-darter. That and a good win from Lee Brundrett-Andy Littlewood rescued the extra point.
Paul Keers-Kelvyn Frankel won the decider for Crescent at second-placed Cygnet 'A' who, with an excellent 15-darter from John Mooring, claimed the aggregate.
Leaders Sun 'A' marched on with a 6-3 win at Swan with the help of a 110 finish for 15 from John O'Mara.
Division two leaders posted a 6-3 result at Green Tree with the help of match-winners Gordon Foster-Dan Tate.
A last game win from Keith Dodd-Pete Ella gave Slip Inn the match points and a wide margin win from Kev Fallowfield-Ken Moment gave Institute the aggregate.
Pete Turnbull (180) won the match for division three leaders Golden Slipper within the singles en route to a 7-2 result at Saddle.
Glynn Jeffrey-Martin Hagan (26) and a 95 finish from Phil Nelson gave Bootham Tavern a 6-3 win over Clifton.
Volunteer extended their lead at the top of York Cygnet Open League division one after a 7-2 win over Ebor.
Paul Dixon gamed in 16 and Daz Gray hit 180 for 20 as Volunteer raced to a 5-0 lead. Tony Raymond (117 bull finish for 20) against Chaz Ramsden (116 finish for 21) got Ebor on the score-sheet, then Dave Loftus-Brent Conland doubled their points tally.
Mitre scraped through a tough home match to Huntington WMC with a 5-4 result. All the singles matches went to the wire before Allan Galley-Kev O'Hara secured the win.
Mark Blundell included a maximum and Stu Limbert (16) and Dave Pilmoor (19) wrapped up the win for Greyhound in the singles at Huntington SC 'B', while Clifton achieved the same, with Paul Brandon taking the win.
In division two, Reindeer's climb up the table continued with a win against Woolpack, and despite a fine 17 darts from Steve Parkinson, Leeman lost to Cygnet, who had John Clemit out in 21.
Crown Inn top division three after a 22-darter from Danny White led to a clean sweep at Mount, while Ted Horsman took the opener for Indoor Bowls against Edinburgh, who then took the rest for a resounding 9-1 win.
Jon O'Mara gamed in 16 and Pete Leake hit a maximum in Cueball's defeat to York John Smith's Mixed League division leaders Huntington SC who had Kev O'Hara out in 18.
Dave Smith checked 136 for 18 darts as Cygnet 'B' won at Leeman 'B', while, despite a Paul Partridge maximum and a 108 finish from Anita Adams, Slipper lost at Cygnet 'A' who had Sharron Neads out in 20.
In division two, Leeman 'A' had a 16-darter from Martyn Turner, while Jim Hawksby-Sue Smith sealed the win for Beeswing at rivals Windmill.
The third qualifying night of the Clifton Hotel Open Darts Competition saw John Pickering in outstanding form. Pickering gamed in 17 in a 3-1 win over Jo Hodges (180), then included legs of 14 and 18 to defeat Oliver Hawkridge (20) 3-2 to qualify.
Another player in excellent form was Jon O'Mara who took out Anthony Baxter in 17 for 3-0, then hit legs of 17 and 19 for a 3-0 result against Paul Brandon and finally put out Craig Wedge (19) with another 17-darter for 3-1.
Pip Hair defeated Huntington colleague, Mark White (16) 3-1 after hitting a 105 finish for 18 and a 16-darter.
The night's other qualifier was Dave Ingles who defeated Neil Caywood (18) 3-2 to qualify after seeing off Tony Raymond with a 3-0 scoreline.
The last qualifier was to take place tonight with the finals night on Friday, February 11.
