YORK City Knights are keeping a keen eye on the treatment table at Huntington Stadium as the clock ticks down to the 2005 season.

They have been hit a new blow as utility star Mark Cain has a knee cartilage problem, an injury which has surfaced since the Knights' last friendly of pre-season, the loss at Hull last Wednesday.

But prop forward Craig Forsyth has not suffered a break to his sternum as previously feared, with tests showing less damage. He has started rehab though it is not known for sure how long he will be sidelined from action.

Long-time absentee Scott Rhodes will now start contact training for the first time since his shoulder operation in the off-season.

The Knights kick off their season with an away Northern Rail Cup group match at relegated Super League club Castleford Tigers on Sunday, February 13.

The Knights' LHF Healthplan National League Two game against Workington Town at Huntington Stadium originally scheduled for Saturday, September 3 will now be on Sunday, September 4 (ko 3pm).
