Bioflame Ltd, of Thirsk, scooped £20,000-worth of prizes as overall winner in the Business Plan Competition at Venturefest.
The contest was judged by a five-strong panel chaired by Patrick Shepherd, of the Shepherd Building Group.
Bioflame, a dynamic environmental technology company, specialises in finding new ways to tackle old problems in waste management, by turning it into energy. The company's technology is used both nationally and internationally.
Luminary Solutions, of Leeds, took the People's Choice prize worth £2,000. The company is a software services provider specialising in systems integration.
It was launched 15 months ago and focuses on people, process and technology.
