YORK Martial Arts Academy warmed up for tomorrow's English Kickboxing Championships in Derby with a handsome medal haul at the Wakefield Open.
In the children's categories Lauren Smith and Joe Porter won gold. Silver went to Piers Laverick, Luke Burks and Jay Spain.
Bronze medals were achieved by Stephi Smith, Kieren Williams, Bradley Bunting, Cara Sandford, Reece Rushworth, Leah Winn, Jamie Kirby, Macauley Catterson and Chris Rushworth.
In the adult categories there were also some great results with Vicky Hughes, Carly MacKenzie and Gary Kelly hitting the gold standard. Club coach Craig Long and his brother Mark, who have 11 British titles between them, shared gold.
Dean Kirby, Kirsty Price and Paul Graham gained silver, while James Renwick and Silvia de Carr came away with bronze.
